Choosing the right Model

Four models, one Calanthe. Each is tuned for a different balance of speed, depth, and capability.

The four models

  • Calanthe Lite: fast and lightweight. Everyday questions, quick drafts, summaries, brainstorming. 128K-token context window. Included with every plan.
  • Calanthe Standard: balanced performance for most tasks. Noticeably stronger reasoning than Lite while staying quick. 128K-token context window. Pro plan and up.
  • Calanthe Plus: enhanced capability for complex work, with a 1M-token context window. Paste entire books, long contracts, or large codebases into a single conversation. Also generates images. Pro+ plan and up.
  • Calanthe Pro: maximum capability. The strongest reasoning, the richest image understanding, native PDF analysis (layout, tables, and figures, not just text), and image generation. 128K-token context window. Power plan only.

Which plans unlock which models

  • Free: Calanthe Lite
  • Pro: Lite + Standard
  • Pro+: Lite + Standard + Plus
  • Power: all four, including Calanthe Pro

How to switch models

  1. Click the model picker at the top of the chat.
  2. Pick any model your plan includes. Models outside your plan are shown but locked.
  3. The choice applies to that conversation. New conversations start with your default.

When to pick which

  • Quick lookups, casual chat, short drafts: Lite. It is the fastest and uses the least of your allowance.
  • Day-to-day work (emails, reports, code help, research): Standard.
  • Very long documents or whole codebases: Plus. The 1M-token context window means she keeps the entire thing in view at once.
  • The hardest problems, detailed image analysis, complex PDFs: Pro.
  • A good habit: start with the cheapest model that might do the job, and step up only when you need to. Lighter models stretch your monthly allowance further.

What a context window means

The context window is how much of the conversation (including files you attach) Calanthe can consider at once. 128K tokens is roughly 200 to 300 pages of text. 1M tokens (Calanthe Plus) is several full-length books. If a conversation grows past the window, the oldest parts fall out of view; starting a fresh chat for a new topic keeps her sharpest.

Usage allowances

Each plan includes a monthly token allowance with a daily ceiling: Free 150K/month (5K/day), Pro 5M/month (500K/day), Pro+ 2M/month (250K/day), Power 8M/month (800K/day). On the Power plan, Calanthe Pro usage has its own 3M-token monthly allotment inside the 8M total. Full details on the pricing page.
